Passion to Become a Police Officer


One trick to successfully becoming a police officer is to show and convince the hiring board that you have had a life-long passion to become an officer of the law. Why would they look for such a person, you might ask? Simple; training new officers is a lengthy and costly process. When the police department hires someone, they are planning on having this person stick around for at least the next 5-10 years, hopefully the full 25-30 (the amount required for a full pension). One way that they try and decipher if you really are passionate about becomming a cop is by asking those closest to you (family members, friends, relatives, even coworkers) how long you have wanted to be a police officer for, whether or not you are a party animal, and why they think you would be a good fit.
