When candidates are being interviewed for employment as police officers, questions regarding community interaction and community service will surely come up. You may be asked some of the ways you have helped contribute to your community and how the community plays a role in your life. This should not come as a suprise to you, as police officers are paid to serve and protect the community. Be sure to express yourself as a people-person who actively participates in things such as community events, politically related meetings, and any type of community service. Tell them you want to keep your community safe by having a healthy environment that is suitable for raising children, or something along those lines. It also helps to be currently living in the county in which you are applying so that you can prove to them that you are familiar with the area, as well as the local current events.
